a fall after back surgery.
Wayne was preceded in death by his mother and infant sister, Diane Marie Reed, and is survived by his father, Harold Reed, of South Charleston, WV; his son and daughter-in law, Alex and Anny Reed, of Charlotte, NC; his sister and nephew, Nancy Shelor and Michael Shelor, of South Charleston, WV; and niece, Jessica Shelor, of Las Vegas, NV.
Wayne grew up in Niagara Falls, NY, and South Charleston, WV, where he graduated from South Charleston High School in 1968 and later attended WV State University. After working at the Union
Carbide Tech Center for many years, Wayne was transferred with their subsidiary, Unison, to Charlotte, NC, in 1986. In later years, he entered the field of legal videography, working with attorneys in both North and South Carolina. Being an avid reader and loving to keep up with the latest technology, family and friends often looked to Wayne for advice. He was known for his perfectionism and attention to detail and
doing everything with the utmost care. In earlier years, he loved adventure and the outdoors, whether it be scuba diving, camping, hiking, or four-wheeling in the snow.
Wayne was a member of All Saints Lutheran Church in Charlotte. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Pastor Jeffrey Ware for his moral and spiritual support during Wayne's illness.
McEwen Funeral Home in Mint Hill, NC, is serving the Reed family. A private service will be held to
celebrate Wayne's life at a later time. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.mcewenminthillchapel.com.
