W. David Starnes, Jr., 70, of Mint Hill, North Carolina, passed away Monday evening, June 29, 2015, at CMC-Main. Born September 2, 1944 in Charlotte, North Carolina, he was a son of the late W.D. Starnes, Sr. and Doris Starnes.
David retired from Charlotte Mecklenburg Utility Department after 30 years of service.
Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Sheila Starnes; son, Keith Starnes and wife, Jennifer; daughter, Shannon Starnes; brother, Patrick Starnes and wife, Vickie; sister, Diane Kinard and husband, Haskell; three grandchildren, Kyle, Garrison and Abbey Starnes; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 5, at Blair Road United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mint Hill Volunteer Fire and Rescue, Post Office Box 23065, Mint Hill, North Carolina 28227-0272.
