Teresa Lynn Phillips

Teresa is survived by her parents, Frank and Linda Payne; husband, Wayne Phillips; daughters, Callista Worsnop, Samara Hairfield, and Daria Custer; sister, Jennifer Payne; granddaughters, Raelyn and Emerie.

Teresa was born on July 19th, 1964 in Charleston, West Virginia to Frank and Linda Payne. She graduated from South Charleston High School in 1982. She then married Wayne on October 27th, 1984. Not long after moving to Midland, North Carolina, the couple welcomed their three daughters. After establishing their family, Teresa managed her husband’s plumbing company for over 25 years. Her daughters remember her as a strong and driven mother who always encouraged them to be true to themselves and their passions.

Teresa was an avid animal lover with a special place in her heart for her horses, Marco and Max. She enjoyed gardening, crafting, and baking. Above all else she loved spending time with her family and friends.

A reception is scheduled for Saturday, June 8th, 2019 from 2pm to 4pm at McEwen Funeral Service – Mint Hill Chapel. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Teresa’s life. In honor of her lively personality and her love of flowers, the family asks that bright colors or floral prints be worn to her celebration-of-life.
