Dottie:  So sorry to hear about Steve.  Please know you and your family are in my
thoughts and prayers.  I have many fond memories of Steve at Wilson Grove Baptist Church.

Sweet Dottie, I am in shock.  I just found out today, 1/25/18, that Steve has left us.  Even though I haven't kept up with ya'll in the past few years, I thought about you both so often, even asking a mutual friend about you last week.  I have always loved you so much, and remember when you started dating Steve, and remember your wedding day so well.  It all seems like yesterday.  Steve was always smiling, always hugged my neck, and we shared so many good and fun times together.  He was so good to everybody and was loved by all.  He will never be forgotten nor will all of the wonderful memories that I have of times spent with both of you.  Know that I am and will be here for you any time, and I love you so very much. Extending my deepest sympathy to Dottie and the Family. I worked with Steve for many years at Allstate, and was often greeted with "Are we having fun yet" Just a nice man!!

Dottie, Steve was one of my best friends and mentor at Allstate. He was loyal and faithful in everything he did and said. As well as as being an Alabama man.  We'll see him again in Heaven.  Love you. Robert

 Steve took me in to his home at a time when he was going through alot of turmoil from the passing of his first wife. I was in love with his daughter Susan. And we got married in his home. Even though I wasn't the role model husband for his daughter, he gave me a chance to prove I would take care of his daughter. If it would't have been for Steve, the family we have now would not exist.

Sorry to hear the passing of Steve. We were good friends years ago and I have never forgotten him.  You will be in my prayers.

The loss of Stevehas been a shock to all of us.

There's and old saying -- When you loose someone you love, they become a memory -- that memory becomes a Treasure.

As we grow older we often wonder what kind of legacy we will leave behind  Steve will be remembered for his love for his God, his wife, all of his family and friends.

If Steve could be with us today, he would be saying to all of us "Thanks for the memories".

Dotti, we can't bring Steve back, but we can go to be with him someday.

God, we thank you for letting us have Steve as long as you have.  We pray that you will be with Dotti, Susan, and all of Steve's family during this time of brevement - - giving them strength to make it through this time.  In Jesus name -- WE ALL PRAY -- AMEN

I won't say that we were like brothers, even though we fought like brothers on occasion. 

I won't say this because we were closer than brothers.  Brothers sometimes do things together because of family obligations, etc.  Not so, for Steve and I.  We did things together and talked to each other almost daily for 60 years because we enjoyed it.

We both had senses of humor.  We loved to laugh - sometimes at each other - sometimes at ourselves.

We didn't have similar personalities, but our personalities seemed to blend together.

We had no secrets from each other.  We trusted without reservation. 

A piece of my life is gone - but not forever.

A nicer man I never knew. Nothing but fond memories,fun times at Grady's also trips to Ocean Drive. Steve,my friend,you will be missed by many. Dottie,you are in my thoughts

Steve came into Columbia DCO, as my Property Claim Manager, He was immediately accepted by everyone there. The morale went from the bottom to over the top. Steve was my salvation in a tough claims climate. He came in quietly, did his job , and was promoted to Atlanta. I have now lost my good friend twice. Dottie my prayers are with you, your family and Steve. He was like no other-remarkable !!    Ray Haygood

Steve was a great neighbor and friend.  He had a smile that made you feel welcome. I will miss our talks and his quick wit. A true gentleman in every sense of the words

Dottie our prayers and love to you.  I hope you are helped by the fact that Steve was loved by many people.

Steve and I were boyhood friends, we went to school together and remained close after high school. Although we lived far apart for many years, we had a bond that never went away. I was with Steve two years ago and one of the last things he said as I left was "I love you". I never realized until now just how much those words meant to me.

Steve was a great person and co-worker at Allstate.     He was serious about his work, and he also laughed and shared those happy times with all around him.   He was obviously devoted to his family, as he mentioned them frequently.
My prayers and thoughts will be with you in the days to come.

I had the pleasure of knowing Steve both professionally and personally for 45 years. He struck the perfect balance between his work and social persona. He will be missed.  Dottie, our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this difficult time.

Dottie, although I am not with you in person know that I am in Spirit. Praying for you and keeping you in my thought daily. As I have told many of our friends...Heaven is a little sweeter place now, my memories are many with us being together and sharing so much over the years..I miss knowing that Steve is  no longer at the end of the phone line, but will forever hear his laughter in my head. I loved to hear Steve laugh, which he did so with ease. Dottie may God bless you and keep you in his loving hands as you move forward with your new normal...Dan and I love you, and lift you up in our Prayers..

Steve and I worked together at Allstate in Atlanta during the late 60's. I'll always remember him as a jovial person to be around. He was always the epitome of professionalism, integrity and can-do positive attitude.  I'm glad I had the opportunity to have worked with him during my entry years with the company. He was highly respected by myself and numerous number of people whom worked with him and many will feel the loss.   

Time and distance separated us over the years, but many fond memories of our times together remain. 

I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers.

Steve has been our landlord for over 8 years, but he became more of a friend with his kind, friendly nature.  Steve was overall a nice gentleman and he will truly be missed.

I worked with Steve for many years at Allstate. He was one of the good guys. My condolences to the family for your loss.

Steve was a very special person and not knowing him but 15 years we have grown to love him and his pleasant personality. He was always so happy to attend our functions for our class with Dottie who was a classmate of ours. We are truly sorry that he has passed away.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you Dottie.

I always thought of Steve as an example of a Southern Gentleman. He was always calm, polite, professional, and never raised his voice to anyone. I worked with him for 20 years and always thought of him as one of my best friends at Allstate.

Steve was my best friend for 60 years.  God, I'm going to miss him!

Steve was fun to be with and I enjoyed our friendship and working together for years.
One of my best memories about Steve was our cross-country trip to deliver a car to California.  We laughed and joked all the way.
Steve was the type that never met a stranger.  He was a true friend and I cannot say enough good things about him.
My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

Steve was a very special man. He was a tribute to his professionalism and made Allstate a better place. I am fortunate to have considered him a friend.
