Paul was the biggest teller of tall tales, and always had plenty of wisdom to share with those who would listen - mainly his children who had no other choice. Among his most well known pearls are "Never order a drink when you go out to eat- that's where they get you is on the drinks!" and "Always overtip".
Paul was an avid Panthers fan, mediocre golfer, and even worse dancer. He leaves behind a wife, Mary Barlow, who will dearly miss his antics; a son, Nicholas Barlow, who will always look at the Panthers Stadium as a place where they had some of their best memories;a daughter, Courtney Giraldo, who still laughs out loud at the thought of his solo dance parties in his tighty whities; and a son in law, Daniel Giraldo, who is forever grateful for his indoctrination into American football and the countless Sundays spent tailgating.
His grandchildren, Daniel and Lily Giraldo, while never having had a traditional relationship with their "crapaw", love him unconditionally and will miss him wholeheartedly. Memories of ice cream binges, fishing, and laying in bed watching The Descendants for the upteenth time will be the moments they cling to and look back on with fondness.
Paul was kind; a larger than life jokester. He was a fiercely loyal friend who loved his family deeply. He was so many things to so many people, the sum of which could never be fully articulated or condensed into mere sentences or paragraphs.
He will forever be carried in the hearts of all those he was close with, and the lives he touched simply by having been known by him are endless. We rest easy in the knowledge that he is somewhere dipping a can of Kodiac having the best golf game of his life, or laying on a beach getting his bald head burnt to a crisp.
We love you.
