Mary Strickland Stevens, 88, of Charlotte, NC, passed away on June 30, 2014. She was born in Greenville, SC on March 12, 1926 to the late Fletcher and Iris Gunn Strickland. Mary worked at a publishing company called Delmar Corp. where her job was printing and binding, and also worked at Hamrick’s. She was preceded in death by two spouses; James Cureton Robinson and William Howard Stevens, a son; Samuel Odell Seagraves and a grandson; Ronald Denton Smith. Mary is survived by two children; James C. Robinson Jr. and Martha Robinson Lee, both of Monroe, NC, five grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren and her sister; JoAnne Strickland Doster, of Fountain Inn, SC. Mary’s family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Novant Heath Matthews Medical Center and the members of Cornerstone Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 2:30pm until 3:30pm with the funeral service following on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at Cornerstone Baptist Church.
