She was born on Feb. 21, 1920, in Griffin, GA, to the late George P. Ricketts and Ida McCullogh Ricketts.
Mrs. McDonald retired from Lance, Inc. and Belk.
Survivors include her three children: Brenda (Joe) Teague, Matthews, NC, Wayne (Maureen) McDonald, Rock Hill, SC, and Wendy (Greg) Hill, Advance, NC; six grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
Her family will receive friends on Monday, April 25, 2011, from 12 noon-1 pm at the McEwen-Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Rd., Mint Hill, NC, followed immediately by her service at 1 pm. The Reverend Eddie Powers will officiate. Interment will be in the Evergreen City Cemetery, 4426 Central Ave., Charlotte, NC.
Mrs. McDonald was preceded in death by her husband, Rayford, infant daughter, Teresa, one brother, and three sisters.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude and love to the entire staff of Monroe Square for their loving care of Miss Louise.
