John Benjamin Albertson

In the afternoon hours of Wednesday, January 13, 2021, John Benjamin Albertson Sr., loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away in Charlotte, NC at the age of 63. John was born January 16, 1957 in New Jersey to Irvin James Albertson and Delores Elizabeth Jones.

John is preceded in death by his parents and brother Irvin Albertson IV.

John is survived by his loving wife Karen Albertson; son, John Albertson Jr and wife Alicia; daughters, Sheree and Elizabeth Albertson; grandchildren, Daren Albertson, Alexus Leebrick, Kelsie Albertson, Johnathan Albertson, Cameron and Carson Albertson; great-grandchild, DJ Albertson; brothers, Bill and Bobby Albertson; sisters, Tacy Willis-Albertson and Patrice McCullough-Moulton.

John loved spending time with his family and friends. Many of days you would catch him at Phat Daddy’s that his daughters run in Stallings, NC. He was a General Contractor with his son John Jr running John’s General Maintenance. His greatest passion was hunting with his son John Jr and grandson Johnathan. He also had a passion for cars. He and John Jr recently bought two 69’ Chevelle’s they have been getting ready for car shows this year. He was the most kind-hearted and generous man. He was the true patriarch of the family and will be missed by so many.

A memorial gathering to celebrate his life will be held Sunday, January 24, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at McEwen Funeral Service-Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, Charlotte, NC 28227.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
