James E. Kivett

He was born on June 7, 1940, in Indian Trail, NC, to Arnold and Mae (Wilkins) Kivett.

He served his country in the U.S. Air Force.

Pastor Kivett pastored for forty years. He served the Good News Baptist Church in Monroe, NC, and the Calvary Baptist Church in Indian Trail, NC.

He was a member of Plaza Road Baptist Church.

At the time of his death, he was president of the Brian Center in Charlotte.

Survivors include his two sons, Pastor Randy (Marie) Kivett, and Scott (Genia) Kivett, all of Charlotte; his daughter, Beth (Billy) Gregory, Indian Trail, NC; his sister, Runia Mae Hunter, Indian Trail; six grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

His family will receive friends on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011, at Plaza Road Baptist Church, 7131 The Plaza, Charlotte, NC, from 2-3 p.m., following by his funeral service at 3:00 p.m. His son, Pastor Randy Kivett, will officiate. Burial will be in Ritch Cemetery, Indian Trail, NC.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the Plaza Road Baptist Church.
