Jack “Dale” Norman Jr., 61, of Concord, passed away March 11, 2012 in Daytona Beach, Fl. Dale was an Army veteran, serving in Vietnam from 1970 to 1971 as a crew chief on C Model Gunships with the 1st Aviation Brigade – 135th Assault Helicopter Company. Here he received the Bronze Star Medal for Valor and various Air Medal and Army commendations. Dale recently retired from the manufacturing industry and was an active member of the “Vietnam Vets Motorcycle Club” and former member of "Metrolina Vietnam Veterans Association".
Dale was predeceased by his father, Jack Norman, Sr. He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Elizabeth Norman; their son, Brandon Norman; mother, Doris Evans Norman of Franklin, TN; sister, Gail (Tom) Henderson of Franklin, TN, niece; Melissa Arnold; nephew, Tommy Henderson, great nephews; Josh and Joey Arnold, numerous AUNTS, UNCLES AND COUSINS IN ALABAMA; and his dog, Todd and Jack Jack the kitten.
A visitation will be held Monday, March 19, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00pm at McEwen Mint Hill Chapel 7428 Matthews Mint Hill Rd. Charlotte, NC 28227. A service to celebrate Dale’s life will be held on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at 12:30pm at McEwen Mint Hill Chapel. Family will receive friends from 11:00am to 12:15pm prior to the service.
