She was born on June 11, 1922, in Portsmouth, VA, to William J. Stien and Irene S. Toriskhouse Stien.
She married Nathan Mosley Weaver, Jr., in 1942. They lived in Norfolk, VA, until moving to Matthews, NC. Hazel had lived in Monroe, NC, for twenty years.
She was a member of the McKee Road Baptist Church. Hazel loved gardening and flowers.
Survivors include her three children, Chester (Cathy) Weaver, Waxhaw, NC; Nathan (Donna) Weaver, III, and Bonnie Davis, all of Monroe; her sister, Anne Garris, Monroe; 8 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
Her family will receive friends on Monday, Jan. 30, 2012, from 11am-Noon at the McKee Road Baptist Church, 4300 McKee Road, Charlotte, NC, followed by her service at Noon. Rev. Timothy Brown will officiate. Interment will be at Sunset Memory Gardens, Mint Hill, NC.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
