Dan Brevard King Jr.

Dan Brevard King, Jr., 54, of Charlotte NC, passed away on Monday, December 23, 2013. Mr. King was founder and owner of Dan King Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning. Dan loved the beach and playing golf; and was known for his quirky smile and for filling a room full of joy and laughter. Dan was also known as a role model and a teacher to many. Dan used love to guide his boys and his family, and always gave them lessons to learn by. He will be remembered as a loving father, fiancé and son, and will be missed greatly.

Dan was preceded in death by his father Dan Brevard King, Sr. He is survived by his loving mother, Carolyn H. King, sons; Dan Brevard King III, Michael Cameron King and Jared Carlton King, grandson, Bryson Kayden Baird, sister, Cynthia King, fiancé, Paula Yurkovich, mother to his sons, Leslie Jackson (Wayne), aunts and uncles; Dempsey and Maxine Huneycutt, W.T. and Jo Plyler and Mabis Huneycutt, cousins; Bruce, Glenn, Eric and Rhonda.

Dan loved the Lord. He lived each day in worship and prayer, ministering to others.

Family will receive friends on Friday, December 27, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at McEwen – Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews- Mint Hill Road, Charlotte, NC 28227. A service to celebrate Dan’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at First Baptist Church of Indian Trail, 732 Indian Trail-Fairview Road, NC 28079. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, 4426 Central Ave., Charlotte, NC 28215.
