She was born in High Point, North Carolina on March 18, 1935. She attended Wadesboro High School and Southeastern Beauty College.
She was a self-employed cosmetologist for 20 years. She later worked and retired from the lab at the Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte, NC.
She was a proud and faithful member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church.
Over the years she has developed many hobbies and passions including sewing, knitting and reading. Her true passions however were her faith, family and dogs. She gave selflessly of her time and energy to anyone in need.
