Charles Franklin Peterson Jr. "Pete"

The funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at McEwen Funeral Service-Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, Mint Hill, NC 28227. Pastor Frank Taylor will be officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00pm until 2:00pm prior to the service. A committal service will be held at 11:00am on Monday, July 10, 2017 at Salisbury National Cemetery in Salisbury, NC.

Pete was born in Miami on January 23, 1946. He graduated from North Mecklenburg High School in 1964.

Pete was married to Alice Lester Peterson on October 13, 1991; they were married 25 wonderful years.

Pete was a proud veteran of the United States Navy.

Pete retried from BellSouth Telephone Company after 35 years of service. He was a true outdoorsman at heart. He enjoyed spending quality time with his family and going to the beach.

Pete is survived by his wife Alice Peterson; son, Matthew Peterson (Angie); daughters, Misty Peterson Schiffner (Wes) and Brooke Peterson Taylor (Frank); step-daughter, Robin Ostrander (Dallas); step-son, Doug Oberndorf (Fabiola); brothers, Doug Peterson (Melanie) and Steve Peterson (Lois); sister, Cathy Bridges (Tim) and 12 grandchildren.

Pete was preceded in death by his first wife, Cindy McKee Peterson; father, Charles Franklin Peterson, Sr. and mother, Gladys Lindgren Peterson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to ALS Association, Gift Processing Center, P.O. Box 37022, Boone, IA 50037-0022. The family wishes to thank all medical teams who followed his illness.
