The family wishes to thank the many heart, ICU and Ecmo doctors at Atrium Main for their continued gallant efforts to save his life, along with many other nurses, therapist, etc.
Kelly left Georgia in high school to join the US Coast Guard in New Orleans, where he met his wife of 49 years, Joyce. A self-made business man, he and his partner owned a successful commercial printing company for many years.
Kelly will be dearly missed by his wife, Joyce; his brother, Loyd Douglas Moore (Joy ); his sister, Patricia Moore (Frank Weber); niece, Heather Thomas (Robert Hearne); grandniece, Isabella; nephew, Clint Moore; grandniece Terri; and grandnephew, Mason.
Coach Kelly was passionate about the sport of baseball. He played the game in high school and loved coaching young men about this sport while they were trying to achieve some lifetime goals and often had long conversations about attitude and decision making in life. He coached 14-15 year olds, high school and American Legion.
He was involved in his local church. He loved soaking up the sun at pool or beach. Kelly was a fabulous griller and a lover of inappropriate jokes. He brought his quick wit and sense of humor with him everywhere. On holidays, he always researched and assigned the recipes to be cooked by each family member.
Times are difficult for many folks in the world right now. Donations in Kelly’s name to a charity of your choice would be an honor for him. Due to COVID, a private memorial service for family and a few very close friends will be held in the future.
