Born May 10, 1948 in Charlotte, NC, she was a daughter of the Bill Brown Dulin and Betty Tompkins Dulin. Billie Ann was formerly employed with PCA in Matthews, and was an associate with Sam’s Club. She later followed her passion and became a licensed cosmetologist. Billie Ann had a special love for animals, especially her dogs, Toby, Rosie and Trigger. She had a free spirited personality and loved life. She also enjoyed music and dancing.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Reid Lefler; her three children from her first marriage, Anne Gill and husband, Mike, of Harrisburg, Greg Spears and wife, Debbie, of Concord, and Tina Spears; her stepsons, Jason Lefler of Concord, Joey Carter of Asheboro and Scott Lefler of Pineville; three siblings, Pat Carpenter and husband, Jimmy, of Matthews, Gary Dulin and wife, Pam, of Mint Hill and Karen Shaver and husband, Paul, of Mint Hill. She also leaves behind nine grandchildren, Kattie, Klay, Bradley, Randy, Elizabeth, Hunter, Jayden, Kristin and Grayson.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 1:00 until 2:30 p.m. Monday, November 24, at McEwen Funeral Service, Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road in Mint Hill, with a funeral service to immediately follow at 2:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Lee Proctor will officiate. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will gather at Mint Hill Baptist Church Fellowship Hall following the interment.
