Betty Ruth Forbis Ross

Betty Ross, 89, of Mint Hill, NC passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, November 9, 2015. Betty was born April 5, 1926 in Mint Hill. She was one of six children born to the late Henry Baxter Forbis, Sr. and Maude Allen Forbis. Betty spent her life in Mint Hill where she graduated from Bain Academy, was a lifelong member of Philadelphia Presbyterian Church and a member of the Fred Brown Sunday school class.

Betty was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Ralph Snyder Ross and son Stephen Ross. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Broadnax and husband, David of Mint Hill and two sons, Bobby and his wife Cheryl and Ron and his wife, Lynne, both of Raleigh. She is blessed with ten grandchildren: Mandy, Chris, Allyson, Meredith, Erin, Bryan, Sally, Hannah, Rachel and Sydney, and three great-grandchildren: Ethan, Katie and Graham. Betty is also survived by her brother Dickie Forbis and his wife Linda of Matthews, and daughters-in-law Tina and Alicia.

Services will be conducted at 11:00am Thursday, November 12, 2015 at Philadelphia Presbyterian Church in Mint Hill. Rev. Rusty Benton and Rev. Lee Koontz will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive visitors in the church rotunda one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Philadelphia Presbyterian Church (R. Stephen Ross Columbarium Fund), 11501 Bain School Rd., Mint Hill, NC 28227. The family is being served by McEwen Funeral Service of Mint Hill.
