

Becky Kerns, age 50, lost her battle with cancer on Monday, Dec. 20, 2010, at the Presbyterian Hospital-Matthews in Matthews, NC.
She was born on March 2, 1960, the daughter of Robert and Nancy Navratil.
Becky was raised in Maryville, TN.
She graduated from Maryville High School in 1978 and obtained a two year associate arts degree in business from Draughons Junior Business College in Knoxville, TN.
Becky married Glenn Kerns on August 1, 1992, in the Virgin Islands. Following marriage, the couple lived in the Charlotte-Mint Hill, NC, area.
She was a vendor who owned and operated Painted Cottage at the Black Lion in Charlotte, NC.
Becky was an artist who loved spending time at the Black Lion and attending markets, marts, and antique shows.
She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, and sister.
Her family will receive friends on Thursday, Dec. 23, 2010, from 6:30 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at the McEwen Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Rd., Mint Hill, NC.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, Dec. 26, 2010, at the Highland Presbyterian Church in Maryville, TN. The family will greet friends following Becky’s service.
Becky was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents and her father.
Survivors include her husband, Glenn, and her son, Brad, of Mint Hill; her mother, Nancy Navratil, Maryville, TN; her sister, Angie Walker and her brother, Joe Navratil, both of Maryville; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joe and Jackie Kerns, Charlotte; her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Beth and Bryan Lawing, Iron Station, NC; four nieces, Nicol and Meghan Lawing, Jessica Walker, and Miranda Navrital and one nephew, Jake Walker.
