She is survived by her husband of 65 years, James David “Perk” Wellman; son, Greg Wellman (Djunna); grandchildren, David Wellman, Kenny Talley and Jamie Talley; great grandchildren, Jerimiah and Mason Halladay; sister, Peggy Drye (Johnny); and brother, William Smith.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, David Wellman and sister, Betty Huneycutt.
A visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 29, 2018 in the worship center at Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church, 1260 N. College Street, Mount Pleasant, NC 28124.
A funeral service will follow at 4:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
