Tom was born in Elmhurst, Illinois and moved to Minnesota with his parents at a young age. He met Yvonne at church and this year they celebrated 66 years of marriage. Tom served two years in the Army and attended the University of Minnesota before and after. He worked for Northwestern National Life for 22 years and taught at Bethel College for ten years. Tom enjoyed singing with church choir and Barbershop Chorus. Hobbies included golfing, bowling, and racquetball. He golfed in all 50 states and was seen out on the course this past August! He loved the mountains and traveling and enjoyed the music of the 1940’s big bands.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alice and George, and brother-in-law, Myrlin Bosshart.
Tom will be missed by his wife of 66 years, Yvonne; daughter, Karen (Mike Baynes) Heinke; grandchildren, Karen (Michael) Urvand, Jason Baynes, and Amber Jones; great-granddaughters, Caroline and Josephine; grand dog, Clifford; sister-in-law, Nancy Morse; and, nieces and nephew, Glen (Barb) Bosshart, Lynn Reid, Laurie Buttes, and Bruce (Michelle) Athey. Further survived by many close friends and neighbors who were like family.
Funeral Services will be Saturday, Jan. 4 at 11am with visitation beginning at 9:30am at Mayflower Church, United Church of Christ, 106 E Diamond Lake Rd, Minneapolis.
Interment at Sunset Cemetery, Minneapolis.
