Ruth Lindberg

Ruth was born in St. Paul on October 5, 1930 to Joseph and Ellen (Conroy) Cannon. She was the sixth of seven siblings: Dominic (Mike); Eileen Preksto; Mary (Kay Taranto); Shirley (Shan Auvin); Raymond; Ruth; and Margaret (Muggs Bruns). After graduating from Robbinsdale High School, she married Bruce Lindberg on July 15, 1950 and welcomed their son, John in 1960. During their over 70 years of marriage, Ruth was Bruce’s constant companion on innumerable hunting and fishing trips. She enjoyed working as a librarian at Sand Creek Elementary School. She also enjoyed antiquing, quilting and sewing. Bruce and Ruth traveled extensively including trips to Alaska, Australia and Ireland. They lived in Andover, Minnesota and enjoyed winter homes in Satellite Beach and Mount Dora, Florida.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce; grandson, Alex and her brothers and sisters.

She will be missed by her son, John (Linda); grandsons, Mike (Bonnie), Andy and Sam; her great-grandchildren, Miles and Maci; her beloved sister-in-law, Marge Cannon and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 17, 2024 at 1 PM with visitation one hour prior at Sunset Chapel, 2250 St. Anthony Blvd NE, Minneapolis. Interment at Sunset Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Alzheimer’s Association.
