Ruth D. Henjum

Died January 16, 2018. She was born December 25, 1923 at home in Orrock, Sherburne County, Minnesota. Her parents were Alfred & Della (Knudson) Mathison. She was a twin to brother Rueben, and their grandmother was the midwife who helped deliver them. She was baptized and confirmed at the Eidskog Lutheran Church. She attended country grade school in Orrock, and later graduated from high school at Big Lake High School, then attended and graduated from Normal Training to be a school teacher. Ruth taught school a few years near her home in Orrock. Ruth later moved to Minneapolis and worked as a secretary for an auto parts distributor. Ruth met Wilbur Henjum and they were united in marriage. Ruth loved her family and enjoyed visits very much. She was very active at her church St. Timothy Lutheran Church where she was a charter member. Ruth is survived by her husband, Wilbur and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers Kenneth, Alvin, Bennie, Loran, and Rueben and two sisters Dorothy and Bessie. Funeral services will be held 12 PM Wednesday January 24, 2018 at St. Timothy Lutheran Church 825 51st Ave NE Columbia Heights, MN with visitation beginning at 11 AM. Burial will follow at Sunset Cemetery in Minneapolis.
