Joannes, Russ will be missed. He was a very caring person. I and my sister always looked up to Russ for smiles,and great advice. IF u need anything just come over. U are in my prayers!

Russ and I were classmates from grade school through high school.  He was one of the nicest people I've ever known. He always had a smile and a good word to say about everyone. He will be missed at our class get togethers at Noreen's cabin.

Russ was a very fun person to be around he will b deeply mist by our family he was going to come over and help my dad fix something in our house this year... he always came out in the morning and always talked to me or my dad if we were going by he will be deeply missed

We can't tell you how shocked and saddened we were by this news. Honestly, it breaks our hearts even though we know his life is not over but just beginning in the loving arms of our savior in heaven.  Love fills us with joy and it is also because of love that we hurt so bad. We were heartbroken to hear of the news of Mr. Carlson's death.  We think fondly of all the years of softball games with him in the stands cheering.  He was one devoted fan!  We always enjoyed running in to eachother, usually in church, where we would ask for updates on Lynne and her kids.  He was so happy to share and quickly produce a picture :)  He was obviously one proud daddy/grandpa.  His smile was warm and friendly and he always seemed so genuinely happy.  I'm so glad that you were all able to enjoy your recent trip, as I know how precious those memories will be.  We are thankful for our faith which we rely on heavily, especially in times like these.  We rejoice in the knowledge that your husband/dad/grandpa is with his Savior, but we grieve his absence here, in your lives.  Please know that our hearts are heavy and our prayers are with you all.
