He is preceded in passing by his father, Rodney Mendenhall.
Rod is survived by his beloved wife, Carol; mother, Virginia Mendenhall; sister-in-law, Karen, amazing nieces, a wonderful nephew and many other family members and friends.
He brought a unique, introspective personality to our family, and was fiercely protective of those he loved. Rod’s many hobbies included photography, horse riding, roller skating, sailing, scuba diving and gaming, but his true passions were his loyal companions: Orion, Harry and Simon.

Memorials, in honor of Rod, are preferred to Challenge Alaska (www.challengealaska.org). Their Warriors Hockey program gives eligible Veterans the opportunity to play hockey in a safe inclusive environment that promotes development and camaraderie both on and off the ice.
