Age 83, of Apple Valley
Passed away Monday, September 14th, 11 days after his wife of 60 years.
Survived by brother Tom; daughters, Kathy (Mike) Mansheim and Debbie Eck; grandchildren, Ashley (Hank) McCarthy, Cassie (Matthias) Austin, Sean (Vikki) Mansheim, Jonathan Westad, and Jenna Westad; great-grandchild, Deandre; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Robert was born and raised in Hibbing, MN. He was wounded in battle in Korea, received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star, and will be buried with honors at Fort Snelling.
Funeral Service 3:00 pm Sunday, September 27, 2015 at MN Veterans Home Chapel of Hope (5101 Minnehaha Ave. Minneapolis) Visitation 1:30 until the time of service on Sunday.
Interment with Military Honors will be MONDAY, September 28, 2015 at 10:00 am in the Fort Snelling National Cemetery, please meet in Assembly Area #2 by 9:50 am.
In lieu of flowers, memorials requested to the Alzheimer's Association of MN or the Minnesota Veterans Home of Minneapolis.
