Paul grew up in Columbia Heights, MN with parents Doug, Heather, and two brothers. Paul fell in love with the outdoors at an early age, spending most of his summers fishing and hunting at the family cabin on Spirit Lake in Aitkin, MN. He was also very active in sports including hockey, football, swimming, and track. After graduating from Columbia Heights High School in 1983, he completed his Doctor of Chiropractic at Northwestern Chiropractic. He purchased Northeast Chiropractic Clinic, 1991, in Columbia Heights where he practiced for 33 years. He also enjoyed working at Top Value Liquor in Columbia Heights the last few years as a “Union Man”.
Paul and Karol married in 1993 where they set up roots in Shoreview, MN and had 3 children; Brandon, Kendra, and Mary (as well as many 4-legged kids that took him some time to accept). Paul spent many years coaching and supporting the kids’ sports teams, as well as spending time at the “Shabin” on Clearwater Lake in Annandale, MN.
He had many different hobbies, and he always had a “project” that had to be completed as fast as possible (after the standard 3-5 trips to the hardware store or to the neighbors for a “quick” beer). Deer hunting with his family; Brandon, Mary, Steve(brother), and Doug were always one of his favorite times of the year. As well as fishing from one of his Lund boats with the white Johnson(motor).
Paul was known as the jack of all trades master of none. He was willing to help friends or strangers at any time. He was also known to talk to so many strangers people thought he was the manager at the local Walmart. He was truly a one-of-a-kind guy and will be deeply missed.
