Karen’s life ended peacefully on 11-14-13. Karen was a graduate of Minneapolis Roosevelt High and years later, with characteristic determination, returned to the University of Minnesota and earned her BA. She was a retired employee of the Minneapolis City Council. Her families, both immediate and extended, were always of utmost importance to Karen. Karen had a fondness for books, films, plays, classical and popular concerts, charitable causes, politics and animals, especially her many cats she had during her lifetime. This beautiful and caring lady was abundant with compassion and empathy.
Karen is survived by her husband, Philip; her brothers Gerald and Donovan (Marlene); a large extended family and numerous friends.
Service at Lakewood Memorial Chapel at 36th & Hennepin on 11-19-13 at 10:00 AM.
Interment at Lakewood Cemetery immediately thereafter.
Memorials preferred to Salvation Army.
