He was preceded in death by his second wife Cheryl, first wife Esther, daughter Jackie, son Clifford (wife Tami), and grandson Riley Sass-Loken.
He is survived by his children; Walter Sass, Addie Sass Guse, Jennie Sass, and Julie Sass King as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and many friends and loved ones who will miss him dearly.
His legacy will be remembered by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He enjoyed the simple things in life and was always the first to start a conversation with any and everyone. As a former employee of International Harvester, he loved his tractor memorabilia.
To commemorate his journey in life and the memories we hold, a service will be held at Sunset Funeral Home on March 19, 2025, at 11:00 am. Followed by a reception and “toast” to Jim at Twin Cities 400. We welcome all who knew him to join us in celebrating the life of a simple man known for his love of life, strawberry pie, the color blue and his trips to the casino.
In honor of his love of the color blue, we ask that you honor his memory by wearing blue.
He will be deeply missed, but his spirit and the memories he leaves behind will continue to bring comfort and joy to all who loved him.
