Irene Anna Farber was born October 3, 1920 in Long Prairie, MN. She was the eldest of 6 children born to Carl and Edith(Strassburg) Farber. Her siblings were Viola, Orville, Wilbur, Clarence and Douglas. She grew up on the family farm in rural Long Prairie. After high school, Irene moved to St. Paul where she completed the nursing program at Anker Hospital in 1942. She was a registered nurse and worked on the OB floor where she enjoyed caring for the newborn babies. In 1946 Irene met Edwin Moske on a blind date at Woolworth's in downtown St. Paul. They were married on September 9, 1947 and made their home in St. Paul. Irene and Edwin were blessed with 2 daughters, Karen and Janice. Karen had special needs and Irene cared for her at home until Karen was 42 years old. Edwin passed away in 1986 at the age of 70. Irene and Karen stayed in St. Paul until 1996. At that time Irene moved to Henning, MN and Karen to a group home in Fergus Falls, MN. When Irene needed more daily assistance she moved to the Minnesota Veterans Home where she resided until her death at the age of 93. Irene enjoyed reading, playing games and cards, especially bingo and whist. She helped in the garden and would can the produce. Irene also enjoyed fishing with her family. Irene truly loved getting together with her family and relatives. She enjoyed the time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and loved the entertainment they brought to her.
Irene Moske was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin; daughter, Karen; sister, Viola; and brother, Orville. She is survived by her daughter, Janice Turchin(Richard); grandchildren, Tammy, Chrissy and Troy; 7 great grandchildren; 3 brothers, Wilbur, Clarence and Douglas; and many other relatives all whom were blessed by her loving personality.
