Age 87 of Rochester, Minnesota passed from this world and joined his Heavenly Father and his family on October 19, 2018.
Bruce was born on April 16, 1931 in Great Falls, Montana to the Reverend Walter J. and Mrs. Beatrice (Bruce) Brown. He was the oldest of three children and, in the time-honored tradition of Minister’s Children, led his siblings through many shenanigans to the delight of his father and the mortification of his mother.
Bruce graduated from Chinook High School in 1949 and joined the Air Force in 1950. For the next six years he traveled the world and took many amazing photographs. In 1956 he met and married the love of his life, MaryEllen. They were joined soon after by their daughter Cynthia "Cindy" Ellen. Bruce spent Cindy’s childhood telling bad “Dad Jokes,” leading her Girl Scout troop and Job’s Daughter’s Bethel, and participating with the Lakeshore Theater Company. He spent the rest of his time working with Government Contracts at Control Data Corporation in Minneapolis. Bruce was a Past Master of Daylight Lodge 348 and was a Deacon and Elder of North Como Presbyterian Church. He was also very active with Rolling Squares and Wandering Wheels Square Dance Clubs, where he spent many summers camping with his wife and granddaughter, Misty. He loved sharing his love of nature, history, and photography with everyone he could.
He is survived by his Wife of 62 years, MaryEllen (Chadwick) Brown of Rochester, MN; his Daughter, Cindy (Rita) Chadwick of Mankato, MN; his Granddaughter, Melissa “Misty” (Jason) Wobig; and his two Great-grandchildren, Jacob (11) and Marilyn (6) Wobig of Rochester, MN, as well as a number of “Heart” Children, Grandchildren, Nieces, and Nephews.
He is preceded in death by his Mother and Father, his Brother, Walter “Jay” Brown; and his Sister, Myrna Brown.
