Allen was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His family was the joy of his life, and he was active at Hope Lutheran Church as an usher for many years. Allen worked as a security guard for 15 years at Alumacraft Boat Company until they relocated from Northeast Minneapolis in 1970. He then enjoyed being a custodian for the City of Brooklyn Center maintaining the fire departments and city buildings; and also with Marsden Services until his retirement. Allen was known for his giant smile and ability to engage in kind conversation with anyone he had an opportunity to meet.
