Age 79, of Minneapolis. Passed away peacefully on January 1, 2016, at Brookdale Senior Living, in Eagan.
Preceded in death by parents, Milton and Hazel Anderson; brother-in-law, George Longaker; sister and brother-in-law,
Sandra and Ralph Junker.
Survived by wife, Sandra Isham; son, Jay; Jay's mother, Glenice Anderson; sisters, Sharol Longaker and Dawn (Arnie) Gruhn; sister-in-law Judy (Doug) Cooper; nephews Shaun (Theresa) Junker and Phil (Suzanne) Hagen; relatives and friends.
Allen graduated from Edison High School, University of Minnesota and served in the Air National Guard. He was a social worker for the state of Minnesota and
Hennepin County, from which he took early retirement. Upon retiring, he was able to pursue athletic interests in marathon running, cross-country skiing, golf, tennis and especially bicycling. He planned and biked several long-distance bike trips, about which he wrote in his whimsically personal style. Sadly, his life was adversely affected and shortened by Alzheimer's Disease.
