Mary, adored Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, and friend gained her heavenly wings on a peaceful night surrounded by those who loved her most. Faithful and honorable wife, Mary loved life while patiently waiting to be reunited with her soulmate.
Born in Austin, TX on March 4, 1925, to David and Pearl Byrom. As the only daughter, Mary was raised to be tough as nails with her five brothers on a ranch. She married the love of her life, Calvin Canfield in 1946. They owned and operated a jewelry store working side by side, 6 days a week in Coquille, OR and retired in 1950. Their time together was spent travelling, motorcycling, camping, fishing, and embracing every moment with each other.
Mary lived a long and fruitful life enjoying simple pleasures, cared for everyone she knew and loved her community. Residing in Albany, OR for 39 years, she spent over 10 years serving her community delivering “Meals On Wheels.” This ”sassy little Texan” had a witty sense of humor and the ability to put a smile on everyone’s face. She regularly joked with her doctors claiming she suffered from the TMBs, Too Many Birthdays, giving them all a good chuckle. She never left a moment dull, had a gift for leaving everything better than she found it and she loved with everything she had.
Mary (Nana) will be truly missed but her memory will live on through everyone she knew. Her beautiful smile and contagious laugh will forever echo in our hearts.
