She was raised by her Parents John and Gladys Mollinet,
Laura enjoyed life as a child in Los Angeles Ca., and Santa Cruz Ca.
She graduated from Santa Cruz High School in 1951.
Laura met her future husband Robert Hammer during her years in Santa Cruz. They were married in March of 1953 in Santa Cruz CA.
During the first years of marriage the family moved many times because of Roberts military service. Finally settling in San Jose California with their then five children.
At the young age of 28 Laura was widowed and left to raise her five children.
Laura has enjoyed work in many capacities during her lifetime, Including a bank teller, a drug store clerk, a tax preparer and secretary/bookkeeper for a construction company.
Laura had many talents as a seamstress and costumer for local school, college and community play productions. She was a passionate researcher and teacher of genealogy. Laura also loved to garden.
Laura is survived by her sister Yvonne, two sons Dennis Hammer, Carl Hammer. And by two daughters Beth Macquelin and Aileen Smith. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
A service in her remembrance will be held on July 2, 2021.
