Judith A. Voelkel Farrell went home to peace and serenity on Saturday March 24th, 2018. A native of Miami Florida, she was born into this world on the 20th August 1956 to Gustave John Voelkel and Joyce Anne Holliday. She settled into life in Pace Florida, raising a large and extended family that included not only her children, but step children, grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
To describe Judy would be like trying to describe the taste of a marsh mellow to someone. All of the descriptions in the world would not suffice in accurately telling the story of a woman who dedicated her life to the raising and well being of her family. Her patience and positivity through the trying times of life will always be forged into those she raised. She was a strong woman who motivated those under her care.
Not only was Judy a dedicated mother and grandmother, she was her sisters’ best friend. Laughing and joking through their time together, she will forever be remembered as the “baby sister” who could bring a smile and laugh to her siblings. Whether she was singing (as she often did in her sweet, sweet voice), or when she was relaxing with a book, she always had a loving and positive way about her actions. Her memory will live on as a kind hearted and playful woman who embodied all her roles in life.
Judith Farrell was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Gary W. Farrell, her father Gustave John Voelkel, and mother Joyce Anne Holliday. She is survived by her sisters; Patricia Swett (Richard) and Cynthia Thompson (Victor), her brother; Gustave Voelkel Jr, her daughters; Jessica Valdes and Jacqueline Valdes, step-daughters; Mellissa Davis and Karey Beck. She is also survived by her nephew; Jon Walter Voelkel (Jennifer), niece; Cassandra Wise (Brandon), grandsons; Matthew Roe-Farrell, Tavarius Farrell and granddaughters; Jasmine Farrell and Maci Sprague.
A memorial service for family and friends to celebrate the life of Judy will be held Saturday, March 31st from 1pm to 3pm with a service following at 3pm at National Cremation & Burial Society located at 5641 Hwy 90 West, Milton, FL, 32583.
