James Edward “Cowboy” Whiddon was the model father. He loved God and prayed his way Home.
He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Salina Perry; son-in-law, Dennis Perry; daughter-in-law, Kathy Whiddon and grandson, Marcus Whiddon.
Survived by his wife, Carylon G. Whiddon; children, Jo Ann Perry, Edward Dale Whiddon and fiancée, Carol Smith, James Earl Whiddon and wife, Rhonda B. Whiddon; adopted daughter, Judy Norman and sister, Doris Miller; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was well known as “Cowboy”, who was loved by all. He was married to his sweetheart for 55 years. Carpenter by trade, best of the best, passed on to his sons. In later years he was the owner of “Whiddon’s Curb Market” in East Milton. Then retired to Holt, Florida where he came to know the Lord Jesus Christ and lived the rest of his life.
Born on June 24, 1937 then stepped into Glory on June 24, 2011, 74 years of glorious living.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at National Cremation and Burial Society with Brother Walter Long officiating and Lamar Pittman and Alton Pittman assisting.
Interment will follow at Memory Park Cemetery in Milton.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Monday, June 27, 2011 at the funeral home.
