Georgia Ann Ward Smith was born February 19, 1947 in Bruce, Florida in the home and passed away on Friday, January 18, 2013 at her home after a lengthy illness. She was the first graduate of Freeport High School in 1965. On February 22, 1966, Georgia married Richard Halton Smith and became a homemaker. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents Robert Leon and Lilly Florence Wright Ward; infant daughter, Theresa Ann Smith; brothers, Genia Ray Ward and John Robert Ward.
Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband of 46 years, Richard Halton Smith of Pace; daughter, Rickie Lynn Smith of Pace; son and daughter-in-law, Richard Halton Smith II and Linda of Muskego, Wisconsin; grandchildren, Brendan and Lindsey of Muskego, Wisconsin; sisters Lillie Mae Miller and Cora Lee Infinger of Bruce, Florida; brother and his wife Alfred and Barbara Sue Ward of Bruce, Florida; brother-in-law and his wife Herman and Tomiko Smith of Lakeland, Florida; special friends Joel and Olga Holland of Milton and Johnie Mae Williams of Pace; several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Dr. Thomas Tan, The Woodlands, and the nursing staff and respiratory therapists at Baptist Hospital for their care and compassion through the past few years.
Visitation will be on Saturday, January 26, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at National Cremation & Burial Society. Graveside services will be Saturday, January 26 at 2:00 p.m. at Dead River Cemetery on Hwy. 81 in Bruce, Florida with Bro. Clain Roberts officiating. National Cremation & Burial Society is in charge of arrangements.
