Richard C. Knabel

Richard C. Knabel, 74 of Millvale, passed away on Sunday, August 13, 2017. He was born June 30, 1943 in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Joseph and Julia (Novakovic) Knabel. He was the beloved husband of Karen A. (Bauer) Knabel; loving father of Sharon (Tony) Lalli and Richard (Becky Schaeffer) Knabel; devoted Pappy of Elliott Lalli and Helena Schaeffer. Also survived by sisters, Nancy Staub and Marlene Underwood. He was preceded in death by siblings, Joseph, Ray, William and David Knabel, Shirley Dickson, Thelma Kachmar and Janet Reed. Richard was a proud veteran of the US Army. He loved to spend time tending to his flower garden and was a former employee most recently Temple Ohav Shalom and previously of the YWCA. Friends will be received Thursday, August 17th from 2-4 & 6-8pm in the Healy-Hahn Funeral Home, 512 Grant Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15209, where a funeral service will be held on Friday, August 18th.
