Raul D. Rivadeneyra III, 26, of Ridge, NY, passed away on October 10, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and strength. Gone far too soon, Raul touched the lives of many with his humor, selflessness, and love for life. He was predeceased by his father, Raul C., and his beloved cousin, Danny. Raul leaves behind by his mother, Carol, and his siblings Sara, Regina, and half siblings Carlos, and Jessie, as well as his cousins Marc, Michelle, Ryan, Angela, Kurtis, and Tamara. He also leaves behind his cherished rescue cat, Charlie.
Raul worked as an automotive technician at H.O. Penn, where he found joy in helping others, working hard and playing practical jokes with his coworkers. At the age of 24, Raul purchased his first home and proudly opened his own auto repair business, Riv Autoworks. Even after his regular 9-to-5 job, he would spend weekends and evenings helping friends and neighbors from his garage, always happy to lend a hand and solve any problem.
His passion for problem-solving extended to his love for mathematics, science, and even riddles, which he solved with ease. Friends and family remember him as wicked smart, always ready with a joke to make those around him laugh.
In his free time, Raul embraced an adventurous spirit. He was an avid snowboarder, wakeboarder, surfer, and longboarder, always chasing new thrills. His love for travel took him to new places, and he was captivated by the wonders of the Northern Lights and outer space. Back at home, he enjoyed quieter moments with video games, board games, movie nights, and sudoku.
Raul was not only passionate about living life to the fullest, but he also deeply valued helping others. He was a dedicated member of the Neighborhood Sobriety Group in Mastic, NY, and the AA of Suffolk County, where he served as both a sponsor and chairperson. Raul walked proudly toward his sixth sober year, each step a testament to the strength he's claimed. His friends describe him as a true problem solver, someone who would be there for anyone, day or night.
Raul had a love for BBQ, especially steaks, and he also enjoyed working out at the gym, having participated in natural body building competition and placed first. His strength wasn’t just physical—Raul was a fighter, overcoming challenges with grace and resilience.
Those who knew Raul often said, “Anything or anyone he would touch would turn to gold.” His selflessness, kindness, and warmth made a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to cross his path. As one friend put it, “Perhaps God said, your work here on earth is completed. Heaven needs you there now.”
Raul will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he enriched. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
