Jeanne E. Murphy

Jeanne E. Murphy, age 73, of East Setauket, New York passed away on Monday, September 25, 2023. She is survived by her adoring spouse, Edmund J. Murphy, who is grateful for the 35 years they shared together. Also surviving Jeanne is her loving children, Christopher Foerth of Sound Beach, NY and Kellie Coppi and her spouse John of East Setauket, NY. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchild Violette Coppi. Jeanne also will be missed by her very beloved pet, Cleo. Jeanne was predeceased by her brother, Paul Schoenfelder.

Jeanne spent her career as an educator, working for Pilgrim Psychiatric Hospital, serving at the crossroads of healthcare and education. In her personal life, she was a seasoned international traveller, who loved the planning process and her yearly trips to the Hawaiian islands. Of course she would ensure to bring back enough souvenirs for everyone. Jeanne loved shopping online, collecting fine art and jewelry and curating particular pieces. To relax she would love to read, play scrabble and binge watching the complete series of revered shows like Peyton Place, Hawaii 5-0, and Law & Order.

Jeanne spent a lifetime caring for her family, from her parents and brother, to her children, her husband, and sole grandchild. There are not enough superlatives to explain how outgoing she as with her coworkers, friends, and family. She was very much beloved by all.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday Oct 8, 2pm at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 716 NY-25A, Rocky Point, NY 11778. A small reception will follow.
