Frank M. Scandaglia, age 94, of Ridge, New York, passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2024. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Frank later moved to Long Island, where he and his beloved wife, Vera, built a rich and fulfilling life together.
Frank is now reunited with his cherished wife Vera, who passed just a few months ago. He is survived by their loving children, Gary Scandaglia and Debra Ogden (Stephen), who meant the world to him. Frank was a proud grandfather to Kaitlyn and Krista and a doting great-grandfather, affectionately known as "Uncle Grandpa," to Serafina, who brought immense joy into his life.
A dedicated postal carrier, Frank spent his career with the USPS in Brooklyn. He was known for his affable and easygoing nature. He enjoyed social games like bowling and bocce, and he never turned down a good card game. A fan of lottery tickets, scratch-offs, and betting on the horses, he loved nothing more than lounging by the pool.
Frank cherished family meals, often ordering in from his favorite Chinese restaurant. He could be found at the dinner table enjoying his go-to order of Chinese veggies with pork fried rice and a hot and sour soup that was just hot enough to make him choke!
A visitation for Frank will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at O. B. Davis Funeral Homes, 1001 Route 25A, Miller Place, NY 11764. The family will gather again on Monday, October 28, 2024, at 12:00 PM at the same location, before the Army funeral honors and a committal service at 1:30 PM at Calverton National Cemetery.
In honor of Frank’s spirit and love for family, let us remember the laughter and warmth he brought into our lives. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
