O'Connell, Edward J. III on February 14, 2013 of Miller Place, LI. Ed was the radiation safety officer at Stony Brook for over 36 years. He was also a professor at Stony Brook University. Loving husband of Linda. Beloved father of Edward IV, Meghan and Grace. Adored son of Edward and Eileen O'Connell. Cherished brother of Patricia Rizzo and her husband Dennis, Daniel O'Connell and his wife Rita and the late Catherine Sharma. Reposing at the O.B. Davis Funeral Homes, 1001 Route 25A, Miller Place, LI. Visitation Monday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral Mass Tuesday 10 AM at St. Louis de Montfort R.C. Church. Cremation Private. Donations may be made in his honor to Little Portion Friary, 48 Old Post Road, Mt. Sinai, NY 11766. He was known for his unprecedented positive spirit and sincere caring about people. He will be sorely missed by anyone whose life he has touched.
