We are sickened to hear of the untimely passing of Cathy. She was my friend; we use to meet at the Flying Pig for lunch. She was the most caring teacher I have ever met. I urged my son, Alex to take Public  Speaking. From the moment she opened her mouth to the parents, I thought to myself,” I love this woman!”. Alex was the 
youngest in the class and far surpassed her expectations. She nominated him for the National Leadership conference in Wash. DC and he went for 2 weeks down to DC. What an 
experience it was- all because of Cathy.


Needless to say we bacame fast friends. She is at the top of the list for best teachers ever!!

My heart is forever broken as you have gone away much too soon. But I know you will be watching all those who loved you so very much..

I’m so sorry just doesn’t seem to be enough for a wonderful woman like Cathy. I had the pleasure of working on Dig Pink with her for many years. She helped out with so many PTO EVENTS with her service club. Never saying no! We shared a love for doubleplay and would get in a dance or two at the bars.  She loved the dance floor. And when we realized we shared a birthday, we became a birthday buddies.  My girls loved her as a teacher and she made it a point to write their letters for college.  She will be greatly missed. May God welcome her home and may she forever Rest In Peace. 

Our deepest condolences to Robert and Melissa, and to all the Kos siblings and Aunt Lily as well.  I'm sorry we can't be there in person to share in your grief and celebrate Catherine Anne's life.  She was a very special person and will be missed by SO many.

From the 1st day I started school in Mrs Curtain's class, through our adventures in girl scouts, and until well after we had graduated, you have been a good friend.  Whenever I would come home to visit you always made time to meet for lunch or breakfast. You have touched so many lives. I know my own was much better for having you be a part of it. I appreciate your friendship and I will miss you tremendously. Rest my friend until we meet up again.

As a new teacher and drama coach, I met a teenage Cathy in the Miller Place Drama Club, and she had a commanding presence even then, a mature leader willing to assume responsibilities for the sake of the club and the other actors. Cathy was superb in her leading roles as Tevye’s wife Golde in Fiddler on the Roof and the mother in The Fantasticks. Her performances always conveyed depth of feeling and sincerity of spirit. Her signature song came in our American bicentennial production in 1976 when Cathy sang, “I Am Woman” by Helen Reddy.  In an unmistakable gutsy voice, Cathy sang out, “I am strong, I am invincible, I am woman,” lyrics that gave voice to Cathy’s spirit as a young woman.
     We English teachers were very happy when Cathy joined our staff. As any of us would expect, Cathy became an exemplary teacher. In her devotion to her profession, Cathy maintained high academic standards for her students while also nurturing close personal ties with them that lasted a life time.  Every student in Cathy’s classes received a thoughtful and thorough education, not only in English literature, language, and composition, but in civil behavior and responsibility as well.
     We will miss Cathy, her kindness, her indomitable spirit, her unflagging devotion, and her generous heart.

I met Cathy before she was married to Bob, I was her hairdresser and from there we became close friends for many years, in true fashion of who Cathy was..I was a bridesmaid at her wedding and she sung at mine, which I will never forget, along with many other memories we shared. She was a loving, friendly and giving person. I’m very saddened to hear of her passing. My heartfelt condolences go out to Bob, Melissa and all her siblings, family and friends. From reading through the all memories on here she is truly a person that left a lasting mark in this world and in memories for many people. ❤️

My deepest and most sincere condolences… Mrs. Danowski was such an integral part of the Miller Place community and her presence within the community will be deeply and sincerely missed. 

I only crossed paths with Mrs. Danowski for a short period of time back in the 10th grade when I took a public speaking course with her, but in the brief time which I knew her, I could tell that she was an extraordinary educator and an even more extraordinary individual. An individual who meant so much, to so many people, myself included.

I wish her loved ones nothing but comfort and healing during this undoubtably difficult time and know with definitive certainty that she will be missed by not only her loved ones, but also by myself, and by the entire Miller Place community, a community in which she had more of an impact then I could ever begin to put into words.
