1923 ~ 2011
Thomas LeRoy Dillon, died February 3, 2011 in Draper, Utah. He was born September 11, 1923 in Kamas, Utah to Edward Alvin and Flora Belle Potts Dillon. He was the 8th child of 14, with 11 growing to adulthood. He married Constance “Connie” L. Storer Hansen, on June 27, 1957.
Tom was raised in the Kamas Valley area of Utah. He honorably served his country in WWII in North Africa and Italy and was discharged as a Sergeant. He returned to Salt Lake and graduated from the U of U. He and his partner ran Shulsen-Dillon Athletic Supply through the 70’s. Tom loved and participated in sports most of his life and was a loyal member of the LDS faith.
Survived by his sister, Kathryn Dillon Robertson; his step-children Barbara Knowles, who has 4 children, 22 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; Arles Hansen who has 5 children, 3 grandchildren; David Hansen who has 3 children. Preceded in death by his wife, granddaughter Melissa Kay Nukaya.
Funeral services will be held, Thursday, February 10, 2011 at 11:00 am at Canyon Stake Center, 3051 East 2900 South.. A viewing will be held Wednesday evening from 6 – 8 pm at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 Highland Drive, SLC and also one hour prior to the service Thursday, at the church. Interment: Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
