Our two sons had the opportunity to work under Steve for many years. We had many laughs in our home about the jokes he would play on them or when they would have to pick up McDonalds or a steak for Steve because they lost a bet about being on time. Steve was such a positive role model in their lives. It was a great comfort to us as parents to know he was teaching them important values, encouraging their education, and instilling a strong work ethic. Steve was their boss but more than that, they considered him a friend. We have all been blessed to have known him and had him in our lives. Brad, Trish, Luke, and Dylan

Steve is an amazing person!  Two of my boys had the wonderful opportunity of working for him at Crestview.  He taught them how to work hard, do your best, and to never give up!  He taught them the importance of doing a good job at work and in life!  He encouraged them to succeed in school and in other activities.  He was a mentor and a positive influence for good.  He will be greatly missed!  My boys and I will always remember his good heart and with a Coca-Cola in hand say..."Ride on Steve!"

I just was made aware of Steve's untimely passing.  It is difficult to even think of Steve without remembering the many, many times he went beyond the mark to help make my teaching experience easier or smoother.  If scenery needed to be hung for Shakespeare, Steve was there.  If we needed to set up tables for our Middle Ages Feast, he had them out before we could get to the gym.  Whatever our needs or visions, he was on our team and there to make them possible.  Besides that, he was a kind, dear friend who shared his wonderful homemade peanut brittle at Christmas every year. I have retired from Crestview and teaching, but I am sure he is missed every single day by those who are having to carry on without him.

I am your second cousin Steve, and I have the best of memories when we were little. Being a couple of years younger, you were the little brother of Craig who was always overflowing with happiness and silliness that obviously ran in the Anderson family.
I lost track of you as we grew older but heard many, many amazing things about you from one of your friends Cary Thornton for whom I knew his family and worked with Cary in Honolulu Hawaii. Cary absolutely adored you and had unlimited good and amazing things to say about you.
I was visiting my Dad one day at the Veterans Nursing Home in SLC, and when walking in the front lobby I heard very loud and very serious laughing from two men in the distance. When arriving at my Dad's room I found your Dad Don and my Dad Albert (Butch) laughing themselves red in their faces, almost insanely! My Dad was dying of Alzheimer's disease as well as Parkinson's disease and most of the time absent of memories and particularly absent of silliness or laughter which was one of his best known traits. Your Dad Don, Butch's nephew brought on all this wonderfulness! These two guys literally brought in spectators from around to see what was so funny!
I miss you Steve and will always remember you. I'm so sorry we lost touch over the years. God Bless all your wonderful surviving family and school children. We will meet again.

Steve I don't remember you too much. Your dad is my cousin. And your grandpa is my dads brother (George).I do remember your dads children when they were little.But we did not get together too much. Dear Steve,
I'm writing this letter to you because you know I miss you!  Your great sense of humor, friendly personality, your motorcycle, your compassion, and alway working hard to keep Crestview the most beautiful school.  
Once you asked me to write you a letter of recommendation.  I am now writing another one to God:  Steve was a wonderful man on this earth.  Please take care of him. We miss him!

Steve was a kind and caring guy.  As a custodian he was quick to do whatever was asked of him. He always had time to listen to my concerns and look for a solution. Crestview won't be the same without him, he will be dearly missed.

I sit here and wonder what my life would've been if we had never met.  Now, your life belongs to my memories. Some are very beautiful... some are very sad and those are days that will stay with me for the rest of my life. 
So, I'll sit here and think about the most wonderful things I will miss and always loved about you, my dear friend. 
Today was another sad day, but I am thankful you are off to your next great adventure in the afterlife. I don't know when, but I believe someday I will see you once again... and in that thought I find peace. We will miss the exploits of our famous "Mr. Steve" at Crestview.  Through his example, he taught our children the importance of having pride in hard work, the positive effect of play and laughter, and the difference one person can make in the lives of others.  I have lost a dear friend, but my students have lost a shining example; truly rare in today's world.

Steve is truly one of the best people I have ever know.  His good heart, compassion, consideration for others, and pleasant nature, (especially with children) is deeply missed here at Crestview.  He knew every child by name and loved each and every one.  His work ethic and dedication to keeping our school spotless were his trademarks.  He mentored and was a true friend to every sweeper who worked for him.  He was also masterful at loving over 600 children and keeping 30+ women happy all at the same time. We will miss your squirt bottle, Harley, jingling bells and singing hat with candy canes for every child, and sweet Lizzie. You have left a huge void, Mr. Steve.  We love you!

One of my favorite memories of Steve was when he subjected himself to being interviewed by my 3rd grade class.  At the end of the interview, when he was asked for any final words, he told the students to 'always do what is right, and stick to what you believe in.'  He was a wonderful person and will be greatly missed.

Steve, I have missed you these past years since retirement. The missing will go on!! Thank you for being my friend, for making me laugh, for caring. There will be a huge hole left at Crestview!  Travel safe through the highways of heaven!

We are so very sorry to hear of Steve's passing. He was so cared for and will long be remembered. The second grade loves you Steve!

This school year hasn't been the same without Steve. We will miss, but always fondly remember, the sound of his jangling keys coming down the hallway and his jingling of bells coming to wish the students in each classroom a happy holiday before winter break. Peace, Steve.

You were an amazing example to my son, you gave him a chance on his first job and you hold a special place in his heart. I thank you for teaching him and for being such an amazing, kind and loving person to him.

We were very sad to hear about Mr. Steve.  My son attends Crestview and loved Mr. Steve's smiles and high fives.  He will definitely be missed.

I will miss Steve coming into the Crestview library almost every day.  He would sit on one of the tables to chat with me for a moment and it was one of the best parts of my day.

Steve was a genuine, one of a kind, man! He always put others first.  He deeply cared for everyone he came in contact with.  I will miss seeing his smiling face on a daily bases and his interactions with his 600+ students who he truly believed were his "own" children.
