Bob grew up in Salt Lake City and was a graduate of Highland High School. He then went on to attend Westminster College. Bob proudly served in the U.S. Army Reserves and was honorably discharged in 1970. In September 1966, Bob married the love of his life, Maxine, and they went on to spend the next 56 years together. During their time together, they raised 4 children and traveled the world.
Early in his life, he began working for his father in the optical business and eventually became the owner of Modern Optical Co. Shortly before his passing, Bob had announced his official retirement from the business he loved.
Bob loved the outdoors. He loved gardening and always had “produce” to share. He was an excellent golfer, winning many events and having multiple holes in one. He loved all types of fishing and hunting, but his true passion was as a waterfowler. Bob loved to be in the marshes of the Harrison Duck Club with his family and friends enjoying a good hunt with good company.
Bob was loved by all who knew him and will be missed by so many.
Bob is survived by his wife, Maxine; his children, Terilyn(Rob) Hixson, Rob(Nicole)Fehr, Kristi(Vince)Thurgood; his grandchildren, Christina(Nick), Kyra(Travis), Catherine, Sierra S., Casey, Cassie, Kelcie, Trace, Sierra T., Saige and Jeter; and his great-grandson, Dax.
