Treasured husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and Brother, Richard Tom Clough, age 83, left his earthly home Friday, March 1, 2024 while at his Bountiful City home. Richard’s loving wife of 60 years, partner-in-crime, and soulmate, Karen Clough, was by his side at his passing. Also by his side was Richard's grandson, Benjamin Morrison.
Richard’s courage, sacrifice, and devotion to his family and country will forever be remembered, cherished and honored.
Richard’s military service began during his high school years in the Civil Air Patrol and continued in the ROTC at the University of Utah. He served in the US Air Force as a KC 135 pilot including two tours in the Vietnam War. He continued his career as a commercial airline pilot.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and strength that will continue to inspire and guide his family for generations. He loved watching his children and grandchildren participate in sports and other activities.
He is survived by his wife, Karen, his children, Cheryl Jensen, Lezlie Morrison (Jason), Matthew Clough (Teri), David Clough (Cami) and Sarah Dorsey (Nate) and 16 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren. Preceded in death by his Son Paul Clough, Parents, Tom and Velda Clough, and Brother Kenny Clough. He will be deeply missed by his family, extended family and all the players he coached over the years whose lives were profoundly touched by his unwavering love.
A memorial service to celebrate Richard’s remarkable life and honor his service to the country will be held on March 8, 2024, at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park and Mortuary, 3401 S Highland Dr., Millcreek, Utah. Viewing will be from 12 noon to 1 pm
