Born on March 9, 1933, in Salina, Utah, ShaRee was the eldest of three children born to Briant George and Zoe Ann Ainsworth Burgess. She graduated from North Sevier High School in 1951 and continued her education, graduating from Snow College in 1953 and BYU in 1956, earning her degree in teaching with a minor in theatre.
While attending Snow College, she performed an exotic dance during a basketball game halftime show, where she met her future husband, Blaine R. Anderson. While he was home on leave from the Navy, they eloped and married on April 30, 1954. Together, they had two daughters, six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren, whom she loved dearly and who will miss her greatly.
ShaRee spent 15 years teaching elementary school, with third grade being her favorite. Her mother gave her a love of reading and she developed a deep appreciation for history from her father. Her love of music was another defining part of her life—she was a member of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir in the 1960s and later performed with the Old Time Fiddlers. She shared her love of music by teaching music classes to her youngest grandson’s elementary class for many years. She also enjoyed traveling, going on cruises, and attending the Shakespeare Festival in Cedar City, UT.
ShaRee is survived by her daughter, Melanie; grandchildren, Bryce (Natalie), Heidi, Heather, Ashlee, Cameron, and Brayden; son-in-law, Rick Chambers; great-grandchildren, Brylie and Paislie; and her sister, Carol Hansen (Carlos). She was preceded in death by her husband, Blaine; daughter, Susette; son-in-law, Robert; parents, Briant and Zoe; and brother, Alan.
