Peter Henry Haig Simpson arrived in the USA on the Queen Mary in his twenties and eventually settled in Salt Lake City, UT. There, he met the love of his life, Jean, while dancing with friends. Their favorite places to dance were Saltair and Lagoon. To support himself, Peter held various jobs, including working as a milkman, hanging billboards for Young Electric Sign Company, and selling furniture for Forcey’s fine furniture Warehouse. He ultimately found his final job as a custodian for the LDS Church.
Peter loved spending time camping in Zion, Capitol Reef, Lake Powell, and Bear Lake. He will always be remembered for his unwavering love for his wife, Jean, even seventeen years after her passing. He was especially proud of his four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to his amazing friend Sue Heinhold for always being there for him whenever he needed assistance and support, especially when his boys could not be there. Another heartfelt thank you goes out to his other amazing friend Stephanie Jarvis for being his partner in crime for 13 years, taking him out to various events and dinners.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at 12 noon at the LDS church located at 1925 E. Gundersen Lane, Holladay Utah. Viewing will be held prior from 11-11:45 am. Interment at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
