Patricia Ann Brown

Our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt passed away at the age of 90. Born November 5, 1925 in Mammoth, Utah to Arthur Oliver and Ione Ferris. Married Grant Brown on December 15, 1946 and was later sealed in the Mesa Temple.

Patricia was actually born as Lilian Pearl Ferris. Both her parents died by the time she was 8 years old. She was "taken in" by the Barney family and they began calling her Patricia Ann. That was the name she identified herself with. She always thought she'd been adopted until 2014 when she applied for a passport and found out that she had never been legally adopted. She changed her name "officially" then, because everyone knew her as Pat Brown.

Pat was a wonderful seamstress and loved to do crafts. She and Grant spent winters in Quartzsite, Arizona where they met many friends year after year. She shared many of her quilting talents with the ladies of Quartzsite. She loved to spend summers at the family cabin in Oakley, Utah. It was there that she and Grant met up with the in-laws and danced the nights away while her 3 boys and their cousins would indulge in games and get into mischief. In 1999 Pat found out she had macular degeneration. Despite her failing vision, she made the most of each and every day. She loved to be with family and friends. Pat had lost 2 sons, Robert in 1998 and Jeffrey in 2011. Bob's children enriched her life with great grandchildren. She was quite proud of them and delighted in them. When Jeff passed away he left behind a Brussels Griffon dog named Otis. She took Otis in and the two of them became inseparable until her very last days. Pat looked forward to "date night" with her other son, Stan, and his wife, Karen, and the weekly Wednesday dinner date with her grandson, Steven. Her weeks were filled with a standing lunch and shopping with her friend, Jean. Other weekly events were water aerobics at the Lion's Club in Holladay and church related activities.Her grand-daughters doted on her and frequently brought the children in to entertain her. Her age never kept her from doing what she liked to do.

Pat started to show signs of congestive heart failure and the quality of her life diminished. She made it clear that if she could not do what she liked, and wanted to do, she did not want to linger. She passed away peacefully in her sleep.

She is survived by son, Stanley (Karen) Brown, attentive, loving grandchildren Steven (Kristie) Brown, Andrea (Brian) Boulter, and Charity Duncan. Also leaving behind six of the worlds greatest great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by husband , Grant Brown, her only brother, Lt. Robert Ferris, and two sons, Jeffrey and Robert Brown.

Funeral services at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Chapel, 3401 S. Highland Drive. There will be a viewing from 10:00-10:45 am Saturday, prior to the service. Interment will be at Wasatch Lawn immediately following the service
